TWO BECKWITH STUDENTS PLACE FIRST AND SECOND IN BRISTOL COUNTY FIRE SAFETY POSTER CONTEST

(February 21, 2017) Two D. L. Beckwith Middle School students have their artwork published in the 2017 fire safety calendar sponsored by the Insurance Underwriting Association.

The state-wide poster contest engages middle school students to create art with fire safety messages.  The Rehoboth Fire Department’s SAFE officer, Lt. Randy Larrivee has organized this project locally for the past five years working with Beckwith art teacher Ms. Faletra.

“With over 1000 contest entries, it is quite an honor for two Rehoboth students to place first and second in the Bristol County competition,” said Larrivee, “who announced the award winners at a recent meeting of the Rehoboth Board of Selectmen. The county winners will now compete for a state-wide prize.

Congratulations to Adrienne Iafrate who won first place in the county competition and Kristin Corvi who placed second.
